Buffs in the Boardroom

You are invited to attend the first ever “Buffs in the Boardroom” speaker series next Friday, November 18th at noon sharp.

This series is designed to offer our DC area alumni the opportunity to hear from successful Buffs about how they built their career after leaving Boulder. The featured speaker will offer a brief presentation followed by Q&A and time for networking. This event will last no longer than one hour.

Free lunch and refreshments will be served!! Please RSVP to dcbuffsocial@gmail.com as soon as possible, space is limited – first come, first serve.

About the speaker:

Scott Aaronson
Director, Governmental Affairs
Edison Electric Institute (EEI)

Scott has been a director of governmental affairs since he joined EEI in April of 2009. He is responsible for advocacy related to several emerging issues, including security, telecommunications, and electric grid modernization, while also handling transportation and wholesale marketing policies that affect the electric utility industry.

Before joining EEI, Scott was a senior adviser to Members of Congress serving the 12th Congressional District of California, including former House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Lantos and his successor, U.S. Representative Jackie Speier. From 2001-2007, he served as an economic policy adviser to U.S. Senator Bill Nelson.

Scott attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for his undergraduate studies, and received a Masters Degree from the George Washington University. He lives on Capitol Hill surrounded by the women in his life: a wife, daughter, and two mutts.
